SEO Tips – PPC Advertising On Content Networks

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising on content networks is very different to that of search network advertising and, as such, should be treated differently too. Adwords PPC content network has a huge assortment of various websites that advertisers can publish their advertisements on that is relevant to the website owners’ content. The website publishers connect into this network through a myriad of different companies around the world but two of the most common are Google Adsense , and DoubleClick Ad Exchange. Within Adwords you run different types of ads and change things such as text, text size, you can ad images and even video on a content network. Also, unlike a search network, the demographic of users is very different as, usually, the people that are on these sites are not looking for a product, but maybe just browsing a website for its content – like a news website. Here are some tips for an effective PPC campaign: • When creating your campaigns, say within Adwords, you should separate your different campaigns – that is searchable and content • Try to avoid wasting time bidding for individual words, this can be extremely time consuming as we all know and Google generally ignores the big anyway – the default Adgroup bid is usually what is taken into consideration • Small Adgroups are much better than large ones with only a few closely matched words • MAKE ATTENTION GRABBING ADS, have them designed by a professional if it is within your budget, you will not regret it • When creating an add with a designer avoid using topics, images, or anything pop culture related that may have a fashion edge – these tend to go out of vogue very quickly and will make you ad look a little redundant
