How do we really know what keywords are being searched, if we were to purely rely on Google Keyword Tool we would be well and truly unprepared in that regard. So we need to start thinking in terms of ‘what is the users intent’ when searching for keywords relevant to your business or website. This can be very difficult to ascertain when users search for very general terms like ‘skin care’, ‘flowers’, or ‘SEO’. So how can we predict, analyse or even detect ‘user intention’? The secret here is to know your query refinements. This means, knowing what other keywords searchers use before or after searching their original words like ‘skin care’, ‘flowers’, and ‘SEO’. This prediction would be almost impossible without the advent of clever tools like MSN adCenter Labs. MSN adCenter Labs has an excellent search funnel tool which, incredibly, lets you search a number or sequence of popular search terms. MSN adCenter Labs lets people like you and I see what users have searched before or after a keyword along with their search share.
